Bug? Wheres everyone going?

The monsters keep wandering off my screen. They just slowly move as a group to the right until theyre offscreen... And they dont come back.. Is this a known or fixable issue?
Started after fighting 7 elite giant rats in default village

Update - save files disappeared. I read about this in other reviews.. This is a grind game. If your grinding gets randomly undone, the game is unplayable.
